Nine women gathered to discuss the needs of homeless elderly women in the local area.
1903
With a $500.00 donation from Sareh C. Frye and an additional $200.00 The Lewiston Home For Aged Women was founded. In November of 1903 five women moved into a rented building on the corner of Main St. and Sabattus St. in Lewiston.
1905
The Lewiston Home For Aged Women is incorporated.
1925
The Lewiston Home For Aged Women become Sarah C. Frye Home for Aged Women.
1975
Sarah C. Frye Home for Aged Women became the Sarah Frye Home.
Sarah Frye Home moved to it’s current location at 751 Washington Street Auburn, Maine
Sarah Frye began to allow men to become residents of the facility.
